Shipping Information
CharmingChains can ship to virtually any address in the world.
- The majority of are sales are to the US. We ship the APO addresses through Postal Service Only.
- We can ship anywhere we are asked to ship. If your address information results in an error in the shopping cart please contact us via email and we can tell you the shipping costs.
Shipping via UPS cannot go to a PO box or an APO address.
Preparation Time
Currently all items sold on CharmingChains.com are made on a as needed basis. In other words the piece ordered will be created at the time it is ordered. This allows CharmingChains to keep inventory costs down, allowing us to give good prices on custom made items to you the customer. Most pieces will be made the same day they are ordered and shipped the next day. If you ned something rushed please indicate in the comment field.
- Large Quantities
Large quantities of an item or items may make the order take longer, usually every 4 pieces ordered adds a day to shipping, unless more supplies are needed to finish the item, at which point 3 days will be added.
Tracking
Tracking information will be sent to you via e-mail. UPS tracking information is quite detailed and will show the progress of your package.
Shipping Rates
Shipping is free on all items from CharmingChains. However in the case of returns, actual shipping costs for orders will be used for the shipping costs taken from the refund amount.
Insurance on Pieces
CharmingChains Insures all pieces that are being shipped to the value of the item being sent with the shipping companies insurance. In the Unlikely event that an Item is damaged in shipping, the shipping company is responsible. We will help you get reimbursed by them, and will gladly make a replacement piece for you if it is possible(If the items used in the piece were one of a kind... We will do our best to replace them).
Customs and Duties
The North American Free Trade Agreement assures that no duty will be charged on packages shipped between Canada, the US and Mexico.
Orders with a claimed value over $200 US may be subject to an import brokerage fee when shipped by UPS standard. This fee is usually $26 US and will be invoiced by UPS. It is an importing and brokerage fee. This fee will not apply to UPS expedited (UPS 2 day) or Express shipments as it is included in the cost.
Shipments going to Europe have similar brokerage fees, however they vary by country. Duty will apply to European countries. If you are concerned this may apply to your order please ask a local official for information regarding the fee amount and the claimed value above which it occurs.
Address Accuracy
Make sure you get your order! Incorrectly entered addresses may unnecessarily delay a shipment and can incur extra shipping charges. Please enter address information in the appropriate boxes and double-check for typos and other errors. An incorrectly typed email address can prevent you from getting any email confirmations or status information.
- General Address Tips
Providing us with error-free shipping addresses will avoid unnecessary delays and get your packages delivered as quickly as possible. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:
- Leave fields blank if they don't apply to your shipping or mailling address. Do not enter "N/A," "Not applicable," "None," "Same," etc. This goes for company name if you are not a company.
- Don't fill in the shipping address if it is the same as the billing address. Do not enter "N/A," "Not applicable," "None," "Same,\" etc.
- Enter information in the appropriate fields. For example, do not enter city and state information in the "Address" field; use the provided city and state fields instead.
- Avoid using accent marks or non-English characters. Our systems cannot process Chinese characters, Cyrillic letters, etc., and entering these into any of the address fields may delay shipment of your packages.
- Enter shipping or delivery instructions in any of the address fields.
- Do not forget your apartment number!
- For military addresses enter the APO as the city and the AE or AP as the state. The country is US.
- UPS Tips
- UPS cannot ship to a PO Box or and APO address.
- If you live in the boonies and your address is UPS friendly, but it looks like a box number, put a note "UPS Friendly Address" in the comments section. Missing this note will delay your order by a minimum of one day or the amount of time it takes you to respond to an email.
- If you mistype your address and the package needs to be redirected via UPS you will be charged a $5 redirect fee. This fee will be applied to your credit card or you will be informed via email of a request for payment. We charge this amount because UPS charges us this amount.
